taken from Cassidy's blog...

just a few of my favorites... I'd be interested in any of your own suggestions -

THINGS TO DO ON AN ELEVATOR:

Crack open your briefcase or purse, and while peering inside ask: "Stop talking, they'll hear you"

Stare, grinning, at another passenger for a while, and then announce: "I've got new socks on!"

Bet the other passengers you can fit a quarter in your nose.

Stare at another passenger for a while, then announce "You're one of THEM!" and move to the far corner of the elevator.

Offer name tags to everyone getting on the elevator.

Greet everyone getting on the elevator with a warm handshake and ask them to call you Admiral.

two of my greatest loves!

At risk of this pic being compared to a hippo or some other giant animal - I put this up - merely because I love both the baby in my belly and the baby in my arms... This was taken about 3 weeks ago now, so if you can believe it (mom, dad, ang, and anyone else who hasn't seen me in a while) my stomach is actually bigger yet!

And these girls... well - I just love them to pieces! You are all going to make great aunts for this little one - I'm excited for her to know you and grow from you. You are all amazing and I love you!

Sometimes we all just need a little comic relief... : )

Sadness...

Today, I mourn the death of yet another friend... Sad to see him go - and sad his face will not be gracing my tv screen any longer.

contemplations...

Been reading a great book - "Thriving as an Artist in the Church" by Rory Noland... I will prob. be posting lots about this - as I continue to read it. It is in fact one of the most genuinely helpful 'ministry resource' books I've ever read. (very practical and very helpful)

This morning I was reading about having confidence as an artist. Balancing humility and confidence is something I personally struggle with. And I felt the author laid out, what I'll shorten to two points, which helped me considerably. What talent I have is not mine. We all know this right - but it's much harder to maintain this concept within our lives. Rory said to:
A. remember the talent i have is not mine. This provides the humility we need -

but to

B. remember that we need to use what talent we do have to the best of our ability so God can use what is his to begin with.

This is my challenge for myself this week- (well, and for a while) to continue to let God teach me how to use what He has given me to his greatest glory but with a well balanced sense of rememberance of where that talent comes from to begin with.

Longing for the sun today... Although incredibly geeked about this coming weekend!

The prayer service last night was awesome - for those of you that missed out - the time to pray over the building and reflect on the past and future was quite powerful. Thankful for all of you who have come along side me - well, my whole life - and I look forward to continuing this journey with you.

It's my privilege.
